Schedule and Route

Monday - Gainsville to Hammond
Tuesday - Hamond to 3 mi W of Rome (overnight on Buffalo River-Kline place)
Wednesday - Buffalo River (or Rome) to 1 mile east of Chadwick (Williams place)
Thursday - Williams Place to 1.5 miles south of Hwy 60 & Hwy 125 (Summers Place)
Friday - Summers place to Ozark Empire Fairgrounds

Information and Rules

  • Ride will go from Gainesville, Mo. starting Monday, September 7th ending in Springfield, Mo. Empire Fair Grounds, Friday, September 11th.
  • Each day we will ride 20 to 25 miles.
  • This will be a Primitive ride, no trucks and trailers will be moved each day.
  • All trucks and trailers will be moved from Gainesville to Springfield on Monday, September 7th. At 12:00pm noon. Each person will need to carry ALL supplies on their wagon.
  • We will have an orientation meeting at 11:00 am.
  • We will travel 5 to 6 miles per hr.
  • We will have a break in the morning, Lunch break, and Afternoon break.
  • No one will pass the lead wagon.
  • Outriders stay behind all wagons.
  • Morning departure: 8 A.M.
  • The participation of all horses and equine are subject to approval by the Wagon Train Committee at anytime during the ride.
  • Every horse and equine must have a negative coggins test.
  • Due to the long hills on this ride, all equine must have been worked and in good condition.
  • All teams must have birchen harness, working wagon brakes, and be able to keep up.
  • All participates must sign a release form .
  • Everyone will be responsible for cleaning their camp area.
  • TRASH: If you bring it, you take it.
  • PUBLIC DRINKING: Public display of intoxicating drinks will not be permitted while riding.
  • Vulgarity and profane language will not be tolerated.
  • All dogs will be kept on a leash.
  • A donation will be accepted to help with expenses.
